2019 පාස්කු දින සිදු වූ බෝම්බ ප්රහාරවලින් පසුල මෙරට දෙමව්පියන්ට සහ ගුරුභවතුන්ට නව අභියෝගයන් එල්ල වියග බෝම්බ ප්රහාරවලින් විපතට පත් වූ දරුවන් ද ඇතුළුව මෙරට සමස්ථ දූ දරුවන් සඳහා මෙම පොතල ආවේදනික ග්රන්ථ චිකිත්සාව නමැති මනෝ විද්යා චිකිත්සක ක්රමය අනුව නිර්මාණය කෙරුණකිග එමඟින්ල විවිධ හේතූන් මත තම සමීපතයන් අහිමි වූ ළමයින්ට සහ යෞවනයන්ට සිය සිතෙහි සැඟවී ඇති හැඟීම් හඳුනාගැනීමටත්ල ඒවා පිළිගැනීමටත් අවස්ථාව සලසයිග එයල පාඨකයාට ප්රකෘතිමත්භාවය කරා ළඟා වීමට සහාය වේ.
මෙම පොතෙහි කිසිම පිටුවක වචන අඩංගු නොවේග ඒල භාෂා භේදයකින් තොරව සැමට භාවිතා කිරීමට අවස්ථාව සලසා දීමටයග එමෙන් ම සෑම පිටුවක ම පහළ කොටසේ ලා අළු පැහැති තීරුවක් තිබේග ඒල කැමැති නම්ල පිටුවේ දැක්වෙන චිත්රවලට පාඨකයාගේ අර්ථකථන සටහන් කිරීමටය.
මෙම පොතල ලොව වටා දරුවන් සහ යෞවනයන් පොත් තුළින් එක් කරන ස්වේච්ඡා සංගමයක් වන ෂඊඊශ මෙරට ශාඛාවේ විශේෂ ව්යාපෘතියකිග පාස්කු දින බෝම්බ ප්රහාරවලින් විපතට පත් වූ දරුවන් 232 වෙත මෙම පොතෙහි පිටපත්ල 2019 ලෝක ළමා දිනයට සමගාමීව පරිත්යාග කෙරුණි.
Following the Easter Sunday bomb attacks in 2019, parents and teachers in Sri Lanka faced new challenges. Out of those, how to respond to the questions raised by children and youth about the bomb attacks was prominent. This book based on principles of affective book therapy, was created as an effective solution to that issue. This storybook is suitable for both children and youth, to recognise and acknowledge their hidden feelings about the loss of a loved one, as well as challenges in living in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. This is turn, helps to heal.
This book contains no words, to enable universal use without language barriers. What’s more, each page contains a grey border strip at the bottom of the page. That is to enable the reader to write his/her own interpretation of the illustrations on that page.
The Six Doves is a special project of the Sri Lanka Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), an organisation dedicated to bringing the world’s children and youth together through books. On World Children’s Day in 2019, copies of this book were gifted to be distributed among the 232 child victims of the Easter Sunday bomb attacks.
